The boys and I took ourselves off to Bondi yesterday morning for Sculptures by the Sea (with only a small amount of grumbling from the almost teen who wanted to sleep in!).
Although I have lived in Sydney all my life I have never made it down to this annual event. I had seen some pics on Facebook from various friends who had taken the trip and thought it was about time to do it myself.
Wow. Amazing. It was a gorgeous warm day, and although there were quite a few people we had arrived early enough to beat some of the crowds. It wasn't just the sculptures that were clever and amazing, the views as you walk along the coastal track from Bondi were spectacular. Surfers riding waves, sparkling water everywhere, and the odd group of lifesavers zipping about in their boats (exciting for the boys hoping to see a rescue!).
So well worth the trip. Highly recommended...the traffic on the way home was worth it.
Have you been? What did you think?
